About - S.L. Dr. Razvan Popescu
A native of Bucharest, Dr. Razvan Popescu, attended "Ovidius" University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Human Biology.
After achieving his degree in Medicine, Dr. Razvan completed a five-year residency in General Surgery at the "Ovidius" University, followed by a Burn Fellowship at Emergency Hospital in Constanta. Dr. Razvan concluded his postgraduate training with a Doctor degree in General Surgery.
Dr. Razvan is Board-Certified by the Romanian Board of Surgery (SRC). He is a Fellow of the Romanian College of Surgeons (CMR), and is a member of numerous regional and national organizations in Surgery, including European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), International Association of Surgeons and Gastroenterologists (IASG), Romanian Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (SRTCU), Romanian Association of Laparoscopic Surgery and Other Interventional Techniques (ARCE), currently or previously serving on several committees in these organizations.
In addition to his private surgery practice, Dr. Razvan contributes to his specialty as an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at Emergency Hospital in Constanta, teaching medical students and residents in Surgery. Dr. Razvan was honored to receive the Most Outstanding Teacher Award by the "Ovidius" Surgery residents in 2008.
To promote greater public understanding of Surgery, Dr. Razvan often speaks before community groups and serves as a resource for journalists through the local televisions and newspapers, and has given presentations on Careers in Medicine, at High Schools in Constanta, for the past twelve years.
Dr. Razvan has authored or co-authored a number of publications in the surgical literature, and has lectured to his colleagues at regional and local meetings and conferences on General Surgery.
